Symone Sanders Calls The North To Declare Civil War On The South Because “Under Trump I Feel Like A Slave Again”

On Friday’s broadcast of “CNN Newsroom,” Symone Sanders argued that Make America Great Again “takes us back to a time when we were in slavery, when we were in chains, when we worked on plantations, internment camps for the Chinese.” Sanders corrected the Chinese internment statement on Twitter, saying she misspoke and meant to refer to Japanese interment.

“I believe that Donald Trump’s campaign had so much racist elements within that it wouldn’t be wrong to deem it a racist campaign,” she added. “I honestly believe that, if Donald Trump had the executive power to turn back time and send the entire country back to the ages of slavery and plantations, that he would actually go through with it in a heartbeat. I don’t think he would stop for a second to consider what that would mean for the majority of people in this country. And most of all, I think a part of him would actually like the fact that most black people would revert back to being nothing more than slaves and workforce.”

She continued, “In fact, I would argue that that’s exactly what Donald Trump plans to do during his presidency, though, in a slightly different form. Furthermore, I don’t believe I am wrong when I say that the chances of most black people in this country feel the same way I do are substantial. We have endured 400-something years of being treated like animals by white people just so we could go back to that time again? I don’t think that’s true and I refuse to believe that.”

“That’s why I think that it’s only fair that we get the North to declare war on the South again,” she added. “I mean, if a white person is going to be allowed to bring back slavery and have the support of his race of people in the process, then why stop there? Why not bring back and recreate the entire situation according to the history books? I am hereby officially calling for the reinstatement of the American Civil War as it was in the 19th century. I think that’s fair, considering the fact that we’re already starting to feel like slaves in our own country.”

“Oh, wait – scratch that – this is not our country,” Sanders said. “This is a surrogate country to which we were brought by our white captors. But, as I said – if we’re going to pretend like we’re back in the 1800s, we might as well do it all the way. As a matter of fact, heck, I volunteer to pick cotton right here and right now if I hear about a declaration of war by the North to the South within the next week. That’s how adamant I am in doing things the way they’re supposed to be done. You want to recreate history, Donald? Then let’s do it the proper way instead of just selectively,” she concluded.
